KISCO RIVER EATERY

Restaurant Branding & Interior Design.

How does one build a restaurant brand that’s replacing a tired watering hole into a completely unique, culinary forward dining experience?

That was the creative challenged presented to us when longtime local restauranteur Bobby Epstein–whom we had helped to rebrand the Muscoot Tavern in Somers, NY–We utterly transform his latest family neighborhood restaurant in the heart of nearby Mount Kisco.

This was no greasy kid stuff! We were charged with creating a brand from scratch and completely redesigning the establishment all within a tight eight-week turnaround. We needed to come up with a new name, a new brand, and a new vibe.

Our response? No problem!

We began by conducting a comprehensive market analysis of Mount Kisco’s restaurant offerings and sent key stakeholders a questionnaire to determine what kind of restaurant they felt was missing in the area. Armed with this info, we headed to the local historical society to hunt for inspiration. Bingo! We found lot’s of vintage postcards showing a small river running through town.  We landed on the restaurant name–Kisco River Eatery—a nod to  Kisco River, a local forgotten waterway where owner Epstein once fished as a boy.

On a roll, we devised a new tag line and designed the logo. At the same time, we orchestrated a complete overhaul of the interior that included framed vintage postcards of Mount Kisco and the real Kisco River, new colors, new bar top, lighting fixtures, fabrics, custom sound panels and so forth.   We designed the complete menu system, named the drinks, business cards, website, and provided the ad campaign advertising this new rustic eatery in Westchester.

KISCO RIVER EATERY

How does one build a restaurant brand that’s replacing a tired watering hole into a completely unique, culinary forward dining experience?

The creative adventure began when longtime local restauranteur Bobby Epstein, whom we had helped to rebrand the Muscoot Tavern in Somers, NY, called upon RSC for an even greater challenge:  transform a rather generic local watering hole into a completely new, culinary forward, family-friendly eatery in nearby Mount Kisco.

This was no greasy kid stuff! RSC was charged with creating a brand from scratch and completely redesigning the establishment all within a tight eight-week turnaround. We needed to come up with a new name, a new brand, and a new vibe.

Our response? No problem!

We had to be highly efficient, given the time constraints.

On a roll, we devised a new tag line and designed the logo inspired by an image of a fly fisherman we found on one of the old postcards.

Eight-weeks later and boom!  Every aspect of the experience–from the rustic design and open, versatile seating, to the staff uniforms and table cloths–convey a welcoming, guest-centric atmosphere that captures the story of an atmospheric forgotten waterway.  Whew!
